Get Outside!

Are you looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spend some time in nature? Getting outdoors is a great way to improve your physical and mental health, and it's easier than you think. Here are some tips and tricks for beginners to help you make the most of your time outside.

Tip 1: Start small. Don't overwhelm yourself with a long hike or a challenging activity right away. Instead, start with some easy activities like short walks, bike rides or bird watching at a local park.

Tip 2: Choose the right gear. The right gear can make all the difference when you're outdoors. Invest in comfortable and supportive footwear, breathable clothing, and a backpack to carry your essentials. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water.

Oh also, make sure to support your friendly local outdoor store!

Tip 3: Find the right location. Research local parks, trails, and outdoor spaces in your area to find the perfect spot for your outdoor adventure. Look for places with a range of activities and amenities like picnic areas, restrooms, and scenic views.

Tip 4: Connect with nature. Take the time to appreciate the beauty of nature around you. Observe the plants and animals, listen to the sounds of the outdoors, and breathe in the fresh air. Disconnect from technology and immerse yourself in the present moment.

Tip 5: Respect the environment. Remember to practice Leave No Trace principles to protect the environment and wildlife. Pack out your trash, stay on designated trails, and respect the natural resources around you.

The biggest piece of advice we have to share is to JUST GET OUT THERE. With these tips, you’ll be on your way to discovering the joys of nature in no time. Good luck!
